Belarusian Star Sends Warning To Rivals With Commanding Performance

Sabalenka Signals Roland Garros Intent With Demolishing French Open Win

Belarusian star sends warning to rivals with commanding performance

Sabalenka continues to impress in Paris

Aryna Sabalenka served notice of her French Open title ambitions with a commanding straight-sets victory over Emma Navarro to reach the quarterfinals at Roland Garros. The world number two dominated the American from start to finish, winning 6-2 6-3 in just over an hour to book her place in the last eight.

Sabalenka's victory was her third in a row at the tournament without dropping a set, and she is now the clear favorite to lift the Coupe Suzanne Lenglen. The Belarusian has been in impressive form all year, winning two WTA titles and reaching the semifinals of the Australian Open. She will be hoping to add a second Grand Slam title to her resume in Paris.

Navarro, ranked 125th in the world, was no match for Sabalenka's power and precision. The American was broken four times in the match and never really threatened to cause an upset. Sabalenka will now face either Jessica Pegula or Marta Kostyuk in the quarterfinals.
